Matobo FC, formerly known as Amazon FC, boasts a rich and captivating history. Established by a group of mine workers united by their passion for soccer, the team initially emerged as a social football club. Despite their modest beginnings, the players' talent and dedication rapidly became evident, allowing them to thrive in local social leagues.

Inspired by their success, the team's management chose to take the next step and register for Central Region Division 2. In their debut season, Amazon FC accomplished an incredible milestone, winning the league and securing promotion to Central Division 1.

After facing significant financial challenges, the team's owner, Mr. K. Dube, made the generous decision to entrust the team to the Matobo community. This pivotal moment heralded a new beginning for the club, now proudly rebranded as Matobo FC.
